DUTIES
Using ESRI ArcInfo 7.0, and ArcView 3.2, I processed wolf, and coyote behavior data in coverage, shapefile, and e00 format on both UNIX and Windows operating systems
Provide spatial analysis with the Animal Movement extension in ArcView 3.2 to determine home range, and movement statistics for wolf and coyote behaviour.
Conduct viewshed analysis using 10 meter DEM and gps data from field observation sites to determine confidence ratings for telemetry and sighting data.
PROJECTS
Yellowstone Ecology pre and post wolf reintroduction – Working independently, I managed a federally and privately funded GIS project, which looked at the ecological processes occurring in Yellowstone National Park as a result of grey wolf reintroduction. Project emphasis looked at coyote behaviour post wolf reintroduction. I was responsible for digitizing and attributing all field data associated with wolf and coyote dens, sightings, and behaviour. I managed the creation and enhancement of this data for the duration of the project, while reporting weekly with maps and data to the project director.
